Always looking for new trails...how do you get to the Barbara Whipple trail? Unfortunately the only trail in Buena Vista that I know is the Midland trail.
You should check out some of the new trails behind S Mountain in Salida...they are nice and vary in difficulty from easy to very hard. You can actually ride all the way to the crater on your bike, mostly on singletrack, up Cottonwood Gulch trail. Be prepared though, its a 30ish mile ride!
